I was very impressed with this guide.It works well on my IPad Kindle Reader. It is a large book in the terms of the number of pages.It is well illustrated. The photos are a reasonable size and upscale well on the IPadI got it as the Okavango was mentioned in 1 or 2 documentaries I was watching.It has the usual information on different vegetation areas, animals, reptiles, birds, trees etc all of these are well done.I may have missed it in my other books but this guide had a good guide to grasses, giving their type,where they typically occurred, what there nutritional value was and of thee what animals grazed them. They were illustrated with one or more photos.Another thing one occasionally hears on documentaries is about various animal diseases. This guide has a helpful guide to the more important of them.The descriptions are on the full side but are very well written and have added to my knowledge substanially.I like the WILDguides ( Princeton University Press ) a lot and have a variety of other wildlife guides etc on Kindle.I held off buying this guide as I didn't really think I needed it.Well I was clearly wrong and an very happy to have it. It often has information not found in other guides which can help answer a number of questions.One small quibble-- the maps are poor ( but Google Maps can help out. )Highly reccommended

Bought this on a Kindle and I wish I had purchased a hard copy. Read on the plane on my way to Botswana and enjoyed the information. As a reference, a hard copy would have been easier to flip through while traveling.

We recently returned from a 2-week stay in the Okavango and this field guide was constantly in use. The Kindle version was perfect for our trip, especially with the travel weight limits for gear. The index with clickable links to specific subjects was very helpful, though occasionally they would take you to a nearby page instead of the intended page. The field guide pictures and maps were very good in the Kindle version. All of our guides carried this book.

If you are headed for the Delta this is the book for you. A comprehensive view of the complete ecosystem. The Kindle version renders perfectly on a tablet and will let you keep up with the incredible floral, fauna and geology of this amazing region of the world.

Godd reference book. Could have more photots of the animals to help with identification.
