I didn't think I'd enjoy the book as much as I did. I wanted to read it because we now live in wine country--Sonoma Valley, where the author lives and grows grapes. But I was drawn into it, and suddenly it became a good read. I wondered, at first, about the audience he was trying to reach, and at the end I concluded that anyone who appreciated a glass of wine, and even better if you live in Sonoma County, should be a potential reader. Like me.The book was a creative blend of personal and technical observations. I did skip some of the technical, but I can probably recite most of the issues covered in that category. The personal commitment and passion were obvious and convincing."All Out War" (on a vine threat) had me by the throat. Wait, I kept saying, this in non-fiction, so relax, but I couldn't.The book broadened my view on grape growing, in fact it opened my eyes to it. We love to "look at vineyards" when driving around our valley. Now I want to stop and inspect them for powdery mildew, pests, and to make sure the canopy is properly opened for air and light, as John Kiger taught me.The chapter on the four modes of farming was enlightening. Beyond "conventional," they had previously all run together for me. The differences are still a bit blurred, but I'm much closer to understanding, especially that "organic" is not as simple as it sounds.I can't imagine there is much more to tell me about grapes and vineyard, but if there is more, John Kiger could do it.

The photos are a reasonable size and upscale well on the IPadI got it as the Okavango was mentioned in 1 or 2 documentaries I was watching.It has the usual information on different vegetation areas, animals, reptiles, birds, trees etc all of these are well done.I may have missed it in my other books but this guide had a good guide to grasses, giving their type,where they typically occurred, what there nutritional value was and of thee what animals grazed them. They were illustrated with one or more photos.Another thing one occasionally hears on documentaries is about various animal diseases. This guide has a helpful guide to the more important of them.The descriptions are on the full side but are very well written and have added to my knowledge substanially.I like the WILDguides ( Princeton University Press ) a lot and have a variety of other wildlife guides etc on Kindle.I held off buying this guide as I didn't really think I needed it.Well I was clearly wrong and an very happy to have it. It often has information not found in other guides which can help answer a number of questions.One small quibble-- the maps are poor ( but Google Maps can help out. )Highly reccommended

Bought this on a Kindle and I wish I had purchased a hard copy. Read on the plane on my way to Botswana and enjoyed the information. As a reference, a hard copy would have been easier to flip through while traveling.

We recently returned from a 2-week stay in the Okavango and this field guide was constantly in use. The Kindle version was perfect for our trip, especially with the travel weight limits for gear. The index with clickable links to specific subjects was very helpful, though occasionally they would take you to a nearby page instead of the intended page. The field guide pictures and maps were very good in the Kindle version. All of our guides carried this book.

If you are headed for the Delta this is the book for you. A comprehensive view of the complete ecosystem. The Kindle version renders perfectly on a tablet and will let you keep up with the incredible floral, fauna and geology of this amazing region of the world.

Godd reference book. Could have more photots of the animals to help with identification.

I could not have finished my business plan without this book. As someone who is new to being in the captain's chair, I was really struggling with how to set prices for services. This book gave me some creative ideas - and rational reasons for what I was choosing to do. It's not too lengthy a read, not overly jargon-riddled. It gets right to the point. While I wish it had more examples of ways implement some of the strategies, it does give enough to get a person thinking.I bought the digital edition. It was adequate and this was not a book where anything was diminished by going with the digital version. It was nice to have it on my phone AND iPad - I could read it faster because it was always available.

I've never been a numbers person, I studied media and communications and worked for 10 years doing things like copy-writing, video making, photography, social media, etc.A couple of months ago I decided to start my own company with very little budget from savings. I spent a couple of months doing some research and planning until the question finally appeared: how much you will charge? I freaked out, I had no idea. Actually I had an idea based on what others charge but assuming others were charging correctly didn't quite feel right to me. So I decided to get a book on pricing strategy and picked this one almost randomly (based on customer average reviews).It is great. It has given me enough information to get the right pricing for my services with just enough rationality and without feeling I wish I studied economics. If you actually studied economics, marketing or something like that I guess you won't think and feel like I am right now. For the rest of you: get this book!

If you are a business owner (or at all concerned with your company's longevity and prosperity) this is an excellent book to read with some powerful seeds of ideas, that if you'll take a minute to think about, you can easily integrate into what you're doing. This book helped us increase profits significantly (and all with very small pieces added to what we were already doing).

I am enjoying reading Rafi Mohammed's book and his theories are very informative. I'm going to share this book with my husband who has to work with corporate budgets everyday and also my son who is a Regional Manager for his company.

A lot of ideas are discussed but noth enough math for the reader to build practical pricing models...good for gaining insights though...

The Name of and concept for the book is a bit of a gimmick. I was concerned that the whole book would really be dedicated to increasing prices by 1% to realize a "windfall". Luckily, that is not the case. In fact, that concept is but a very small portion of the book.This book is fantastically detailed and encompassing for the field of product/service-pricing. It covers all of the different pricing strategies and goes over how to evaluate and implement them.I HIGHLY recommend anyone who plays a role in produce or service pricing read this book. My only complaint is that I would've liked to have seen a bit more information on the differences between pricing in different business models.
