I absolutely loved this story line. The fact that Rock respected Hope's marriage, and despite his rough personality was still able to create her with kindness made me fall in love with him. The supporting cast was interesting and I was looking forward to their stories. The problem was when the book abruptly ended, leaving a cliff hanger. I could see reading the next, however I then saw that this story line was not resolved in number two either. You then needed to read book 3. This is very disappointing.
I am not much of a fan of a continuous series, but I have to say this book changed my mind. I took a chance on a new author and am glad I did. I love Hope and Rock's story.Hope met Rock in the court room when his attorney didn't show. The judge asked her to represent him. The attraction was instantaneous between them but she was married. A year later her husband dies and Rock waits another year and decides he is going to claim her as his own.I highly recommend this series. Don't buy them one at a time because once you start reading,you won't want to stop until the series is done.
Absolutely love Rock. Very well written. When I started reading this book, I was thinking "why did I pick this book? I don't think I'm going to like it if she cheats on her husband." But part 1 captures the chemistry between Rock and Hope while she continues to be happily married and doesn't act dishonorably or act against her beliefs. And Rock is so funny and so smitten with Hope, it's truly cute without taking away from his 'Bad Ass' biker masculinity. Loved it!
This series is by far the best MC series I've ever read and in my top 3 all time favourite series across all genres. It has everything. Great characters, interesting storylines, it's not too violent, woman are respected, it's realistic and there is plenty of funny and sexy dialogue between the characters. I think one of my most favourite things about this series is the banter between the male characters. These books just tick every box and they are definitely books you can't put down and then want to read all over again.

With complex characters, light action, and a beautiful love story this first installment captured my heart, and it's never letting go!Hope Kendall is a successful lawyer living a moderately successful mundane life. She is married and works in family law. When the President of the Lost Kings MC, Rochlan "Rock" North ends up in the courtroom without a lawyer, Hope is called in to do the job. Rock is quite taken with Hope and despite his position in the MC, he decides that he wants to make Hope his. The only problem is that Hope isn't exactly available. Because she isn't a cheater, Rock must settle for keeping her in his life by getting her to work for the club.When Hope continues to represent the men in the MC, she attracts the attention of a rival MC. Additionally, although Rock has tried to repress his feelings for Hope, he begins to obsess over being with her. The combination of Rock wanting Hope and that not being possible causes tension both physically and emotionally between the two. When Rock pushes Hope away to protect her, Hope takes a professional hit. However, when life deals Hope a fatal blow, Rock is ready, waiting, and more than willing to take care of her. As Rock and Hope come together, there is a beautiful dance of push and pull that made me smile, cry, and swoon the entire read!Told in dual POV, Slow Burn is an absolute crowd pleaser! The pacing was perfectly set with just enough action and suspense to keep me on my toes. The emotional connection between Rock and Hope was beautiful and full of love and tenderness. Although Rock is a tough and dominant MC President, his love for Hope is deep and full of tenderness. The physical connection between these two was smoking hot, and it was so fun to see these two "opposites" become one! The supporting characters enhanced the story nicely, and this is one MC that I cannot wait to explore. This is not a "hardcore" MC Romance but the story of two people who fall in love that is a part of an MC.Overall, Slow Burn is a must read for contemporary romance fans who love motorcycles, dominant men, and strong female characters. With light action and plenty of steam, Autumn Jones Lake blew me away with her smart writing and the beautiful moments she created between both Hope and Rock and the brothers of the LOKI will stay with me forever! I am completely taken with this series and now that I have discovered her work I will be devouring every word!
Happy for now....this definitely describes the ending of this book. I was skeptical before I started reading, but I learned from others that there is no cheating in this book. While I would say there are definitely some overstepped boundaries, I would somewhat concur. There is one part I would consider cheating. I LOVE the story line though. I love Rock and his character, even though he does tick me off sometimes with his caveman tendencies. I also love Faith! I wish I got more of Sophie and her boy, and possibly more of a story with her brother because I feel like there may have been a past there. There was definitely some foreshadowing with Sophie and Johnny, but you won't get to that in this book. There is also one situation in which Faith is called and recommends another lawyer, and when the person hangs up they say "Thanks, chica." REMEMBER THIS! Oh man, there are so many feels in this book. The situations are really only what gave me the feels besides the hot parts though. The part with the DA in the courtroom and Rock...ugh. That is one scene that really cut me deep. The feelings between Rock and Faith could have been a little deeper in my opinion though. A good 4 star read!
