I'm getting very attached to the "Little Friar" and the Coroner of London. I don't know how many books are in this series, but I think I've read them all. Not only do I love reading these novels, a guilty pleasure, I can compensate for the guilt by learning English history.This one in the series adds some double plot twists and the addition of an unusual killer, making it an enjoyable read. And gotta love God bless and the goat Thaddeus.

I struggled quite a bit with this latest installment. I loved the premise and was excited to dive into the book, but it was slightly repetitive and got bogged down in a couple of places. The prose seemed much more stilted than in the past (the conversations between Sir Jack and Athelstan don't feel as though they're occurring between two very close friends) and this made the book feel "off" to me.Regardless, I have no doubt I'll be back for the next book. This one just missed the mark for me.

It pains me to give Paul Doherty a low rating, but the last couple of books I have read seem to have more than their share of gratuitous violence and terrible characters. His books are always violent, with an emphasis on the dark, dirty and immoral aspects of history, but these have gotten to be too much, with too few redeeming qualities. Although I will miss the central characters, I doubt I will read another of Mr. Doherty's books.

Paul Doherty has the rare talent of being able to meld actual history with a gripping mystery. His characters are real as are his descriptions of daily life during the period.

I am a great fan of Doherty and especially of the Athelstan series. While I enjoyed reading this particular book, there was a good deal of repetition of points already made more than once or twice and in describing the filth and unsavory characters of London's more insalubrious neighborhoods. Also, the comic relief usually provided by Athelstan's fractious parishioners was all but absent. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book and recommend it with some reservation.

Good read, well written with great descriptions. Doherty always delivers a good story. It is obvious who the murderer is, but the reason why is a bit obscure. I recommend this book.

Paul has brought me back in the fold. Just when I was sick and tired of crimes committed behind locked doors, Mr. Doherty presented a new spin on an often overused theme. I enjoyed this book in the series and I think you will too.

This is a good basics primer. It lacks in depth case studies, superficially brushes over many ideas and provides a single example or way in which ideas may be implemented. The authors provide plenty of other resources for a more depth on particular topics.There's a lot of in-text links that bounce between chapters for relevant info/concepts. The Kindle version would have benefitted by placing most of these in text or in the "definition function". Many repeatedly used acronyms are absent from definition function. Forgot what FMEA is, what CTQ or NVA stands for (not in definition popup) or what a spaghetti diagram looks like you'll have to follow a link to another chapter or hunt it down manually in some cases. I found the "back-arrow" in the top menu too late; it was frustrating to follow so many links to see a figure or read a couple paragraphs only to lose my page.

I am enjoying the book and learning a lot. However, I have the Kindle version and many of the charts and tables are un-readable in this format, and there are a lot of them. If you are thinking about purchasing this book I would recommend the hard-cover version so you can read the charts and tables.

This was ok for review. Be warned - this is a British version. I wish there was more detailed info about the equations used in LSS. It was good review, but I did not take it in with me for the open book certification exam.

This book is great for those of us who are sick and tired of hearing buzzwords in the industry. Just show me how to make my processes more effective and successful without all the jargon and hype! And, that is what this book does.

Well written and takes a dry as dust subject and gives it a little life. But only a little. However, the book is clear and easy to follow for a newbie to the subject and I would recommend to anyone wanting to understand and have a good overview with a fair amount of depth as well. I'm on my 2nd reading.

Great stuff for beginners in Lean Six Sigma. This is excellent starting point for anyone wishing to complete one of certificates in LSS or just to find out more about it.

It doesn't give you a complete LSS education but that would be too much to ask for from a "For Dummies" book. It gives a very good overview of the important concepts and it directs you to resources where you can learn more. There is a lot of statistical analysis involved in LSS and the book doesn't include too much related to that. If you want a broad overview of the concepts or you're looking to review, then this is a great resource. If you're looking for the complete story on LSS then you should take a class or at least get some more detailed textbooks. But if you don't want to spend a ton of money then this is good enough.

Perfect book for beginners in this topic.

This book is excellent for teaching your kids the difference between Alligators and Crocodiles. There have been many books with 1,000's of pages dedicated to showing the difference between the two similar, but totally different, species, but this book does more in 20 short pages then many treatises on the subject. This book has bright, colorful pictures, easy to read text and my son takes it wherever we go.However, I need to offer a big BUT on this one. If you are trying to identify iguanas, this is not the book for you. My son and I saw an iguana outside our home last week, opened the book, and could not figure out what type of iguana it was. I think it could be a little clearer on the cover, but the book is so good helping identifying Alligators and Crocodiles, I will not deduct it a star.

The best series ever for young readers. It is very hard to find books for young readers that are based on the natural world. The photos are beautiful, the storyline is full of accurate, interesting, scientific facts about the creatures, and has a vocabulary building review at the back of the book. And each book in this series has several upside down jokes that reference the animal, an added point of interest for Montessori and all children. BTW, I have gotten more than 30 of these books for my classroom. Highly recommended!

This book has great pictures and offers fun facts about crocodiles and alligators that my 3-year-old has now memorized. It also offers a great explanation of the differences between alligators and crocidiles, and also describes other crocodilians as well. Great vocabulary in the book, and very informative. It offers labels describing the specific types of alligators and crocodiles, and it defines the words that a young child would not know. This book is perfect for a toddler or elementary student fascinated with reptiles.

To be given as a gift to a young houseguest this week, but my husband and I have been loving the photography, captions and tidbits about alligator life--so important to know more about when you live in Florida.

My two year old nephew loved this book. It's way too advanced for him but hes obsessed with gators right now, he got it for xmas and hes still carrying it around

Bought this as a Christmas gift for our grandchild to go with a stuffed alligator we also bought on Amazon. Both are perfect gifts for our little granddaughter. She wanted a live alligator, but will love this book and the stuffed one.

Godsgrave is a true work of art! For me this does not suffer from the sophomore slump instead it takes everything that made Nevernight brilliant and capitalizes on that to make a worthy and downright fantastic continuation! Godsgrave picks up 8 months after the closing events of Nevernight and we discover Mia has a new destination, the Collegium.One thing I loved about Nevernight was the storytelling and Kristoff keeps it up. The book itself is split into 3 parts and I absolutely love how part 1 tells the story of here we are now but let me also tell you how we got to now, this is told through flashbacks. To me it is never hard to follow the past and present story lines because each one is very unique. I also love how the flashbacks do not overstay their welcome, it has a precise story line and ends.As for the present story and plot, Godsgrave amps up all the action and drama by 100. Kristoff writes some of the best action scenes ever, period. They are gripping, exhilarating, and downright gruesome. Every action scene is vivid and well detailed and that is all thanks to Kristoff's incredible writing style.Now the plot stays it's course from Nevernight, we are still after those that ruined Mia's life, however we now join a Collegium rather then a school for assassin's. Man did I love the Collegium in this book! The new characters were all fleshed out, some likeable some not so likeable. However I do have to tell myself when it comes to Jay Kristoff books I really need to not get so attached to the characters because well you will just have to read the book to find out. The new characters add a fresh new feel to the book to the point that we get to see a more softer side to Mia that we really didn't get to see in the first book, so I appreciated that. Seeing a softer side to Mia really showed some great character development and there definitely was quite a bit of character development throughout this book. We also see some old faces return in Godsgrave which was exciting and bloody shocking (I AM LOOKING AT YOU CLIFFHANGER)! The Collegium is also where we get to see all the action take place. Like I said before these action sequences were epic. They all weren't the same either and what I mean by that is, we didn't have just big blood bath battles. Like a true Colosseum in Rome, their were games, chariot races, and of course blood baths.Last but not least I want to talk about the world a little bit. In Nevernight we only peak at the world of Itreya. In Godgrave we get a whole new perspective of this grand world Kristoff has created for us. We get to see loads more of the city of Godsgrave itself but also we travel to new corners of Itreya. I am hoping this world building and exploration continues in the grand finale of the Nevernight chronicles.All in All Godsgrave was everything I wanted and more and I cannot wait to finally get my hands on the conclusion, hopefully next year. With this book Jay Kristoff has definitely earned the title of auto-buy author in my books and I cannot wait for all the stories Jay has in store for me!!!

I was very excited to read this second installment and it didn't disappoint. Things I liked:- Mia is still this tough as nails assassin who doesn't hesitate to kill but doesn't come off as cold hearted. I do have to say that this book shows Mia being a bit more vulnerable than the first.- I loved the gladiator aspect of the book. I found it completely engaging and enthralling and it definitely had ( and kept) my attention.- I loved all the new characters we were introduced to!Things I didn't like as much:- the footnotes! I've mentioned before (and this is what kept me from giving the first book a 5 star rating) that I hate footnotes in books as it takes you out of the story so completely and doesn't add anything to the plot. I will admit though that this sequel has far far less footnotes than the first book so I really appreciated that.- *SPOILER* I really didn't like how the author used the trope of characters we thought were dead but actually aren't. This actually applies to more than one character in this sequel and I wish it wasn't used because it honestly had me rolling my eyes and thinking 'oh of course this character is still alive how NOT shocking'.Both of these points are still minor things and I have to say I did really love this graphic, explicit addition to the nevernight series.

When I finished "Nevernight," I immediately sent an e-mail to the publisher basically begging them for a copy of "Godsgrave." I think I used the word desperate in my e-mail. I didn't hear anything back and thought I was going to die from need for the second book in the The "Nevernight" Chronicles. Imagine my PURE GLEE when "Godsgrave" was dropped onto my doorstep (aka my desk at work) by an angel (aka the mailman). I couldn't wait to read it. This book took me stinking forever to get through due to life and other similar distracting things, but it was SO VERY WORTH IT.4 Reasons I loved Godsgrave (and why you'll love it to):1. Like "Nevernight," "Godsgrave" follows no rules. Kristoff blends different fantasy worlds, real-life cultures, and sci-fi-like settings to create an entirely unique world. As readers, we have grown to expect certain things of "fantasy" and "sci-fi." Kristoff smashes those boundaries so that, as a reader, you don't know what the hell you're reading (in a good way, I promise). I can't even describe these books to people, because I feel like I have to use so many adjectives. They're truly their own thing. And that, my friends, is pretty damn impressive.2. DAMNIT THESE CHARACTERS ARE SO STINKING GOOD. I'm getting all giddy thinking about how many characters I hated, then loved, hated again, then finally loved. Kristoff takes you on a whirlwind of emotions as you read through these characters interactions, and you don't know who you can and can't trust (sometimes you're even left questioning our main character, Mia).3. The authentic-AF relationship. I won't spoil much about it. But it's FANTASTIC.4. The bad-ass battles!!!!!!! I can't add enough exclamation points to this. There is a massive gladiator-esque tournament going on for the majority of this book, and it's gory, disturbing, heart-wrenching, and AMAZING. I was tense through so much of this book.The bottom line: This book is a raunchy and violent rule-breaker. Don't read this series because you think you know what to expect. Read this book to be uncomfortable, have your heart ripped out of your chest, and jump for joy when you find a new, completely unexpected favorite.

Chad Troftgruben Chad Troftgruben is a freelance media designer who has been working with Flash, Anime Studio, and other various software for a number of years. It's good, but it really didn't answer the questions I bought it to answer. I know how to make a character, rig the bones, make it mover, etc., etc. I learned all of that from the youtube videos Mr. Troftgruben has uploaded (which are great!), but I bought the book to learn other really important things. For example: Now that you have a fully developed character facing in one direction, what is the best way to make him face the there way? Great! He can walk off screen to the right now! What if I need him to walk off to the left? Do I start the whole process over? Surely there is an easy way to copy and flip or something. Never found any advice on that. There were other examples, but that was the main reason I bought the book. I can't say I've even opened the program again after realizing I still had no clear answer on getting past my dead end. Bottom line: It's great for what it is, but it wasn't so great for what I needed.

This book is easy to read. But most of the information is coved in the tutorial files in the program not the book. Then in this book there are supposed to be support files but to get them. You have to make a account with the publisher website that will bill you $29.95 a month after a free trial seems like a rip off. When you just paid $26 for this book.

I bought the kindle version when it came out, great intro and advice for Anime Studio program.It was annoying to me to use it with the kindle. Could not use it while working onthe program, I bought the softcover book, I was disappointed for being a black andwhite print . Sorry I got it.I decided to use YOUTUBE which your videos are great.( Great instruction and presenter )I recommend your Ebook and video which are great intro. Keep up your video. This book is a winner! I was trying to learn Anime Studio by watching the training videos. They don't show you the basics. Chad's book starts at the beginning and delivers with all content. I am using the book along with the videos (Chad also does the videos) and know that I am really learning this software. You can't go wrong buying this great learning resource.

I have always enjoyed and learned from Chad's Anime Studio video tutorials. So, I was very excited when I found out that he had written a book on how to use the animation software so I ordered it immediately. The book is very well written and is a wealth of information on how to use Anime Studio animation software. This book is a must-have for anyone wanting an easy to understand manual for Anime Studio.

Really great guide. Photos are awesome too. Glad we purchased this book when we got our Leopard Gecko.

This book is sophisticated enough to answer some of the harder care questions yet easy enough for a young (pre-teen) audience.-It's a great book for parents and kids to learn together. Also, and most importantly, this book teaches how to take quality care of a pet leopard gecko.

This book is very helpful if you have questions about caring for your leopard gecko!!! It has so much valuable information!!! It also has beautiful illustrations!!! :)

Good book nice basic information it did like a couple of things but really for basic information about small lizards it's pretty darn good.

A fantasticly put together guide on the best practices of keeping leopard geckos. Would absolutely recommend to someone who is researching before getting a leopard gecko or even someone who already owns one or more. Factual, informative, and easy to understand. Great resource for the responsible pet owner!
